Word of the day Mugwump

Ok so I saw World Trade Centre and Pulse this week. Didn't think much of either of them really. World Trade Centre made me kinda queazy, especially the little girl, and Pulse just made me laugh. But this week it's not about the actual movie, it's about watching the movies with my friends and hanging out as much as possible. :)
PS Word of the day Mugwump- Use in a sentence: What the mugwump?

The summer of reading.

So I ordered "Angels & Demons" (Dan Brown) from Amazon.ca on the evening of Aug 8th. I checked it out at Chapters and I think it was like $40 plus tax. I was quite worried that it wouldn't arrive before I moved but it arrived this morning (Aug 10th) AND I got it for $25 (taxes & shippping included) brand new.
Woot!

Since I enjoy Amazon so much, I was wondering if anyone else has some great books to suggest?

PS. I've already read Da Vinci Code, many Stephen King books and am currently reading a book by Kay hooper "Chill of Fear" (It's pretty crappy butI'll still read the whole thing)

good grief

Hey all. Here's a wonderful rant for the week.
Ok so the story really begins after work but for the context I'll start a little before.I had a great day at work. GREAT (and that doesn't happen often). So then i wander around downtown, looking and shopping and having a GREAT day. So to get on with the rant, I'm waiting for the bus to take me home as I'm a little lazy after such a great day. Waiting, and waiting. So while I'm waiting this random guy comes up to me, says in an awakard accent, "I'm not from here. Which bus do I take to Kimble court". Being helpful i tell him...then I just notice he's got raunchy breath. He then takes a sip of beer. Just drinking in front of king's place. I tell him which bus but then say the driver could probably help him more [Hoping the driver would also notice that A) he's intoxicated b) and drinking in public]. The driver shoo's him away... as he is helping someone else at the time. The guy goes back to the driver and asks again. So long story short, guy gets on my bus...which is not really close to his location at all.

This all happens before the bus leaves. So finally the bus takes off and random guy continues to talk all about himself. He tells me again to listen to his music. I ignore him and he doesn't say anything for about 2 mins. He then gets right close to me and says " Do you wanna go sit on the beach". I say "WHAT?" and he repeats something about sitting by the water and winks! I say no i really have to get home, ring the bell and hop off the bus.

While I'm walking home, up the friggin hill, I'm thinking how ticked I am for him being an ass and made me feel so uncomfortable. I was cursing that I left the bus..in fear that he got off and was waiting around the corner. Walking, and thinking angry thoughts, I think how violated I was feeling. Wishing I wasn't female, that boys are cocky jerks and that someone who has just come to the province is only looking for one thing....... Thinking that he was at fault and thinking that I could have told him that I'm just not interested in talking ( Where was Clare's boldness when i need it). Wishing I just told him to get lost.

Then I change my thoughts and am totally sympathetic, thinking that he's new in town, doesn't know anyone....I catch myself in though and am angry again for pitying him and then feel extremely depressed as I'm skeptical of walking around by myself....getting catcalls and creepy men everytime starts to add up and make you paranoid. Plus it always seems that the creepiest things happen when Tim's not around.
I arrive home and enjoy my chocolate bar and continue my GREAT day.

Moral of the story-there are a lot of sketchy people in Fredericton. Don't give weirdo-drunk-strange men directions.......
SSSSKKKKEEETTTCCCHHHYYYY
The End

Rant of the day. Topic Mall-rats...

After spending just an hour just hanging out at the mall yesterday, I've come to realize that being a mall-rat is almost a lost art. I refuse to go to Wal-Mart on saturdays due the the crowd and usually I will buy clothing and get the hell out as fast as possible.

I have no clue how I spent so many hours just wandering and loitering at the mall..let alone the Zellers mall in Charlottetown. How was this possible? There isn't a whole lot around in Ch'town but knowing that I could just randomly show up at the mall and there would be a crowd of people I knew already putting in the days worth of aimless wandering around the mall was amazing.
It seems like there is a new form of mall-rat, the spoiled teenage girls that buy everything they touch and look like they are 30, but are only 15. And then the "pimped out" boys who are only there to look at these girls and buy them things when they show fake interest.

BUT THEN.....out of the blue, while I was wasting time before a movie yesterday, I saw two boys that fit the description of the lost art of mall-rats. From far away this sight seemed much like the norm but as we snuck closer we were enthralled. One, all dressed in black, Star wars t-shirt and spiked hair. The other sweatpants and a neon orange t-shirt! There they were with an audience while they playing a very exciting game of dance, dance extreme for a good hour. They seemed quite distressed when the coin machine was out of service.

I was impressed that the art of Mall-rat has not been lost completely. Although these boys did a bad show of how being a mall-rat used to be, it was the closest thing I've seen in a good 10 years.

Last Summer in Freddy

So I should have started this blog awhile ago to document all of my adventures but I can back track as far as my memory will allow :)

In my 4 years here, I've been to (and have had)some AWESOME parties hosted by AWESOME people. Some very drunk entertainment and some not so fun times praising the porcelain god. Lots of bar nights and lots of greasy pizza. New roommates, new friends, new pets and exciting adventures. Quiting crappy jobs and eventually finding a good job. Oh and the market, the walking bridge, hating Jubilee and loving Mexi's a little too much. And the most recent camping trip. The best think of all was all teh laughs.
There has been so much more....help me out.....

There have been lots of movie nights with everyone. Can't really remember all of them but I'd have to say my favorites have been Exorcism of Emily Rose ( due to the creepiness of the Base theater), The Omen on 6/6/6, Clerks II, all of my all time favorites and a variety of awesome rented ones. All the chick flicks i was made to watch :P

Drama and discussions about boys. Drama and criticizing boys.

Oh yeah almost forgot about STU ...haha.

Actually I'm not leaving Freddy yet but I had to start somewhere. It's been on my mind a lot. Keep you posted....
